Desert Mountain Outdoors Club
The Desert Mountain Outdoors Club (DMOC) is planning a number of outdoors’ related activities this upcoming season. For those new members to Desert Mountain, the purpose of the DMOC is to bring members with interest in the outdoors together so that they can network with other individuals and pursue their respective interests. It is intended that activities and events are offered that will appeal to both men and women. Some of these events will be formally organized and announced using the Desert Mountain communications network and others will be smaller and left up to individuals to plan and communicate through the DMOC member email list.
Cycling
Desert Mountain Outdoor Club members are enjoying mountain and road bicycling outings at various times each month. Typically, these early morning rides stage from either Outlaw or Renegade Clubhouse parking lots, and last from one to two hours.
Mountain bike rides venture into Tonto National Forest lands east of Desert Mountain, or into the McDowell Mountain Regional Park, south of Rio Verde Drive. Road bike rides include routes within or around Desert Mountain, the Bartlett Lake loop, and other offsite destinations. These rides are informal outings where members provide their own gear, transportation, food, are responsible for their own safety and well being, and are not bound to any agenda or schedule.
For more information please call Troy Gillenwater at (602) 228-5400, or reach him via e-mail at Paleostone@aol.com.

High Desert Hunt Club Pheasant Hunts
The Desert Mountain Outdoor Club will hold bird hunts at the High Desert Hunt Club located in Mayer, AZ, only about 1 hour drive north of Desert Mountain. The morning hunt has releases of pheasants and chukars, and will include guides and bird dogs. Your own dogs are welcome at the hunt as well, and fields will be organized accordingly. They have both grass fields and high desert terrain to hunt. No hunting licenses are required to hunt at the club and they are providing member prices as a courtesy to our group. We also organize car pools once we know who is attending. Feel free to invite friends who might like to join in on the hunt.
If you need any additional information and /or to indicate your interest in attending a future hunt, please contact John Runyon via email at jjrunyon@cox.net or call (480) 575-0581. Or, you can contact Mike McTigue at MPMcTigue@yahoo.com or call him at (602) 620-9922.
The Desert Mountain Fishing & Boating Club
The purpose of the group is to provide those residents at Desert Mountain who have interest in fishing, but either lack the knowledge of available Arizona options, boats, or fishing gear, a way to enjoy and participate in this great sport while residing in our paradise. By constructing a way to facilitate these needs, each interested fisher person can fill that void.
For dates and times please contact Dave Ostermeyer at (480) 595-6292 or Les Schupak at (480) 437-9977.
